One more thing to consider...these jet setting dj's have a monopoly on new records that we can, in some cases never get, and when we do they are already on to the next big tunes that we will be buying in 6 months, god willing. Because of this, they are better...they have better music, newer music, different remixes ect...
A recent example is the Set I heard in Toronto with Deep Dish, Sharam was dropping tracks I have never heard, and I guess I will never see half of them in any record store...it's a monopoly, and one I wish I was on the inside of.

Big track syndrome ( which I like to call it ) is something that I find preferable to avoid. I'm not holding a judgement on your musical preference because I'm not that much different compared to you and we both like seeing headliners out of town etc.
But back to BTS you should avoid it like the plague. My opinion is if you are not part of the top jocks circle don't even concentrate on these tracks.
There is the fact that you get the stuff once it's been played out and then there's you and every other dj in the same style range who's just trying to clone the top jocks. Just DON'T DO IT!
There's a sufficient abundence of tracks coming out weekly to keep you on the edge, original, and have your own distinctive sound without having to copy the top jocks. Crate digging should be essential to try and make a breakthrough in my opinion.
Lastly NEVER voluntarily try and buy the same tracks that you saw on top jocks tracklists or at least don't make a conscious effort to get the same stuff. This may sound like a bit of magical voodoo but my opinion is don't try and memorize every track name out there, and if you end up finding some of the same records then the top jocks so be it, but it'll be a little bit of magic.
Do not try and copy the rock stars, do not imitate, Innovate! ( ok that sounded a bit cheesy ).
And do NOT play unlegit mp3s if you're really desperate to play one of these advanced
Another good way to getting advanced material if that's what you are really after is getting to know the producers  ( for exemple I have in my possession two unreleased cdr's featured on John Digweed's Kiss 100 Hernan Cattaneo mix from this weekend ).
