I never thought it would get this bad.

None of my friends like to go out. And when they do, they don't want to spend money on booze. And when they want to go out, and spend money on booze, they don't like dance music or the 'club scene'.. and well.. I like all of the above.

So what on earth am i supposed to do? i wanna go see George Acosta tonight with KT and the gang... but I absolutely refuse to go by myself and be 'that guy'.

i feel your pain... i've been "that guy" for a while now :wink: i just gave up and started heading downtown solo, i'm sure if you ran into most of the people on here you'll find their pretty damn groovy people (from the handful of you i have met)

be that guy and just go and have fun, and you'll notice you start to see the same faces here and there and you'll realize you aren't alone at all. i had this same conversation with jdat before he left... about going downtown by myself, and he gave the same advice amy just did above. i'm glad i did!! and i hope you made it to Acosta and KT the other night... Very Happy that was a riot!

First off don't judge "that guy" type of people. That's not cool at all.

Some of us have our own reasons for going out alone and in most cases they don't involve being a solo type of person because if we were we'd be staying home!

Going out alone is actually better to meet new people I find.

I tend to go out solo 99% of the time because I never really had people in my surroundings with the same musical interests and when I'm out there's always people who come to chat with you heck you get to make friends outside of your usual circle and whenever you go out you see them again and again and again just like a lot of us here ( apart from me cause I left Cleveland back in january ).

Let me also make it clear that it's not always a choice to want to go out alone but the simple fact there is no other alternative ( people don't want to go and do the same as you ). It's true that going out with other people makes it 10 times more fun but it's different and it also has it's down sides.
