Hello everyone! I just recently moved down here from near Ann Arbor, Michigan (about 45 minutes up S-23 from Toledo), to Port Clinton, OH, and I'm sure as most of you already know there isn't a whole lot to do here. I work in Sandusky and will hopefully be attending nursing school there soon.

I belong to DCS (DetroitClubScene.com) back at home, so that prompted me to jump online and see if there were any similar forums here in Ohio....and I stumbled upon here!

I like a variety of music, but as far as EDM goes a few of my favorites are: JAMES HOLDEN, DONALD GLAUDE, RICHIE HAWTIN, MARK FARINA, DJ SODIE and KENNETH THOMAS. Minimal techo is my fav....I like it dark and deep....I have always been more into the "underground" side of things, if you will, but I can even appreciate some good trance from time to time.

So basically, I am just wondering how the scene is here....where to go to see who.....if there are any monthly events that people frequent. I definately down with supporting the local DJ's.....I have my friends that DJ in Detroit and I am always down to here new stuff and give my .02 if asked.

Hope to be meeting and hearing from some of you soon!

LA

If someone asks about minimal techno is it BSP to pimp your own stuff?

At the present time we (Plate Tectonics) are the only group concentrating specifically on pushing techno in Cleveland. we have a monthly at Abbasso called Techmix which features local and regional techno DJ's of all sorts. This Sat (the 17th) we're bringing in Punisher with a great supporting cast of locals. You can find more info here or on our site here. Hopefully we'll see you out this weekend or possibly next weekend for Dan Mnookin at Touch. If you do come out stop by the DJ booth and say hello...

Regardless, welcome to the board!

Don't forget about PROJECT:X0X and T3/Midnight Mixer.

Project:x0x performs live acid techno.

The Midnight Mixer parties also promote techno, including live techno performances by T3.

Yes, if you get a chance to catch project x0x definately do so...they drag tons of analog gear out and put on a great show.

Midnight mixer does one-offs and does feature a lot of techno-oriented stuff...I suppose I should have said...'only techno monthly' Embarassed

Welcome! How long did you live in Ann Arbor for? I lived there when I was in college. What brings you to Ohio?

I lived there for four years during high school (1996-2000) and then just recently for a couple of years (2003-2005).

I'm down here to attend nursing school over in Sandusky and get my act together as far as that....and I moved in with my boyfriend who works as a an engineer over at Brush-Wellman over near Fremont (which is why we live so far east). He's not much into the whole clubbing scene, so that's why I am interested in meeting other people who are.
