Well It Happened and it happened big time...

I was going to my car which is parked outside sitting in my garage and I noticed the trunk was open. I thought to myself "Wow, did I accidently pop my trunk open?" cause I had my keys in hand and occasionally I may pop it open without realizing it...As approach my car, my heart sank as I come to realize that my window was broken...car was ransacked and the STUFF IN THE TRUNK, ALL GONE!!! Yes, including my big record bag cause I played last night and didn't get home til 7AM~

Now I've had my car broken into and yeah it sucks...you do the best that you can and I mostly had burned mix Cds in the car, so that can be replaced...even the speaker wires and headphones and needles...But the vinyl...man that effin hurts! Crying or Very sad

All this so some dumbass can sell my shit to get what? 50 bucks?!? I think that I know who did it too...more on that to come...all I know is...
THEY HAVE FUCKED WITH THE WRONG PERSON THIS TIME!!!
 Twisted Evil

Aw, that sucks dude. I feel your pain. When I was liviing in Los Angeles, I had my recently hooked up rice burner stolen. The previous Friday, I had dropped over $2k in rims, body kit, etc on my car only to have it stolen that Sunday. Ironically, I was going to take it to the insurance company to have it appraised! It was 7am that Sunday morning and I was busy shaving. I hear a loud knock on the door and go to answer. Its early in the morn so I'm pissed people are banging on the door. Plus, I still had shaving cream on my face and in my boxers. I answer the door and standing there are two cops. I begin to freak out thinking I had done something wrong. Then I think to myself that I aint done crap, so I should be cool. Anyways, they ask if I'm the owner of a black Honda Civic. I tell em I am and they ask me if I know where it is. I was like, hell yea, its out front. They ask me to go check it. So I walk outside in my skivvies to where my car should be and lo and behold its not there! I start freaking out and ran back to the po po's. "Dude! Where the f$# is my car?!?" They tell me not to worry cuz they recovered it earlier that morning about 10 blocks down. Whew!... Not quite!

"Did you have rims on your car sir?"

"Yea, I just bought some new ones."

"Well, not anymore."

"Did you have a radio?"

"Yea"

"Not anymore. Its sitting on bricks in our impound lot and is badly damaged."

"F#$%!"

So, I fill out the police report and notice a spot for the responding officers' names. I go to look at their badges and start laughing. One of the cops had "Manlove" on his badge. I ask him what his name was, thinking it was a joke. Sure enough, his name was Officer Manlove! I figured he got beat up a lot as a kid for his name since the officer was huge and looked like he could pass off as special forces assassin or something.

So, I get to the impound and my car is trashed. To make a long story short, insurance didn't cover my aftermarket parts, so I lost several grand, which I'm still paying for.

Stealing sucks.

Sorry to hear that, Stout. I feel for you, I really do. My car has been broken into FOUR TIMES since I moved back here and I'm effin' pissed. The last time was just about a month ago, and they took my XM system. (Dumbasses too stupid to know once it's classified as stolen it can never be reactivated.) When I went to the police to report it, they said they were closed and only took reports 8am-3:30pm at the downtown station. Get real.

I think everyone who's had their car broken into should post up here so we can all see how bad it is...

This is the shit that makes a city unlivable, and some still wonder why people are leaving Cleveland in droves.

My coworker's Dodge van was stolen outright, and when she went to get a rental car, she was told that there were none left at that particular brand of agency because the Cleveland area had been hit with over 1,000 car thefts in just over a week or two.

I know the cops can't be everywhere at once, but why aren't they cracking down on the junkyards that are making money off the parts by receiving stolen property? Why aren't they cracking down on the pawn shops? Why in Pete's name are they putting cameras at intersections instead of parking areas?

Because #3 generates revenue, while #'s 1 and 2 do not. Such is the cash-strapped city we live in. Confused

Sorry about your losses.

After Nap's car got broken into (twice) and amy's...and jeanine's...and a few other friends cars It bacame plainly obvious that you can't leave ANYTHING in sight when you park your car. Unfortunately even that precaution isn't always enough...

I've been broken into twice...once outside metropolis...had my two (2) CDJ1000's stolen from me...nothing else, 2 cases and split, it was like I was castrated...

Then just this past month my car was parked right on the corner W.3rd and Lakeside (yes, the "Courthouse District"). They smashed the passenger window, attempted to steal the car (the steering column was stripped) and was either interrupted or too stupid to pull it off and instead ripped the stereo out and split. There's blood all over my car door (which was left wide open), I bet the f*cker cut himself up pretty good, and not a cop in sight.

The nearby station I walked to (about 40 ft away) then proceeded to tell me that I couldn't file a report there because it WASN'T THEIR DISTRICT...I then had to drive my girlfriend and myself in my glass-laden car down to the station next to CSU to be told nothing would be done about the blood investigatively and the only thing that will happen is me calling my insurance. "To serve and protect"

Oh, I forgot to mention that the fourth time was in broad daylight during working hours. It was my second day at a new job downtown, and I had parked in a "Secure" garage. I now take RTA without exception. I don't stay late anymore. The work comes home with me.

naw just twice that you saw, try a TOTAL of 5 times in Cleveland!! Once by Metropolis and rest from working and hanging out so late at Abbasso. Damn once some crack heads were throwing a brick at the bar windows of Bottom's Up trying to get in to steal booze again(like they did twice before but the new doors stopped them, so they thought they'd try the BIG windows) too bad we were still hanging out in the basement!! WTF!!

Sorry to hear that Stout, DAMN CRACKHEADS!!

What kind of car did you have and what part of town did it happen? My Civic is one of the hotlist cars to get stolen.

i learned my lesson. when i made the mistake. of parking on the street and not paying the 5$. to park in the lot in front metropolis. nothing like walking to my truck in the snow. to see my window busted out. and my cd player gone. but the best was getting a cop to help me out. he most have got a kick out of making me stand in the snow . while he sat in his car writting down the report. anyways here's the break down.

cd player 100$
cost of a knew window 150$

driving down the highway. with glass and snow being blow around. while i drive a half hour home priceless. this is why i learned how to install car alarms.

I'm sure Stout will explain later... but it happened in his garage... and he has found the vinyl at a resale shop. Now he's got to go through the legal motions of recovering them.

So sorry to hear about your records being stolen and the whole problems that come along with that.

But hey you might just be able to get them back somehow it appears.

My car ( actually my parents car that I wasn't supposed to be driving at the time ) got broken into june 6th '04 in Akron the day I was moving to Cleveland Heights!
As if I didn't have enough already from the stress of the move I get woken up at 7 am by the cops ..... cd player ripped off, yes litteraly, the dash board should have been replaced completely! ( I had to install a new center control panel with ac controls and cd harness by some bootlegs means glueing the thing in cause the dash board anchor points were busted ... No way I was going to drop what 500+? bucks for a new dash board )

But honestly what's everyone's opinions on parking downtown?
I feel as if paid or street parking are nearly both the same thing security wise. From what I recall seeing broken glass in both locations was not a rare sighting.

I dont keep anything in my ride except loose change, and a police boton to beat some fucking ass if needed. After my car was stolen last year from right out in front of my house. I don't leave a damn thing in there. They took my wheels and rims $2500, and radio $300, and priceless cd collection with very valuable rare cd's which they probably tossed, even my headrests. I got about $500 from insurance and vowed never to leave a damn thing in my car or put aftermarket parts on ever again. It is a shame b/c there is abslolutely nothing you can do. I am glad it looks like you have some ideas as to who might have took it Darryl, if you need help finding them I know some people for hire.
