As I said before, by the way this mix is SICK!! mad respect to the mixer of: (The Sounds from "The Grotto" great soul, deep mix.)

Does it really matter that you put a label on a certain genre of House Music: Funky, Deep, Dub, DnB, Trip-Hop, Hip-House, Acid, Hard, Progressive, Trance, Euro, Tech, Breaks (aka Steph) ETC ETC ETC. I LOVE IT ALL!!!

As long as you feel it deep down in you soul, were it touches your heart, body and mind. Nothing else should matter!!

I'm digging all the mixes and cut's that local DJ'S and Producers put on this forum. It has opened my eyes to the Cleveland scene and what it has to offer.

The greatest thing that I ever read about HOuSE Music was Frankie Knuckles did an Interview for the Chicago Tribune some time ago and this is what he said:

"Acid House from the 80's (aka WBMX) is a fusion between Disco, Jazz, Soul, RnB, and Hip to the Hop. Which formed a uniformed sound which we call HOUSE." At the time Fast Eddie, Kool Rock Steady, Tyree Cooper were into the hip-hop and then FUSED together Frankie, Ron Hardy and Too Kool Chris. He dubbed (and should of copyrighted) the name HOUSE from spinning at the LEGENDARY "Warehouse Club." When people came up to him and asked what kind of music he was spinning he simple put as "HOUSE" now dance motherfunkers, DANCE!

Respect to all aspects of dance music, promoters and DJ'S. NO MATTER WHAT KIND OF GENRE IT IS!

We are all under one house, under one groove!

Just my take

Peace,

Sean

Does it have anything to do with Steve Maestro? or is the Name of the DVD called "Maestro" Steve was a long house DJ on WGCI in Chicago. Just curious

I should get on converting those to MP3 before they deteriorate.

Before we deteriorate?

Razz

I'd be glad to help... you know I'm one of the biggest advocates of Mixtape Preservation.

Good look on the info on the Maestro doc. I was at Poo-Bah's earlier and Doug filled me in on the skinny. I would of bought it but only had a enough cash to pay for a 12" I requested.

Really digging you vibe Metz's. Like I said before once you can fell it deep down in your soul, you know it's good. PM me the next time your mixing, I would really enjoy hearing it LIVE!

that's so weird. i just read an article on the apple page about the documentary:

http://www.apple.com/pro/video/ramoseberhart/index.html

the article is really just an apple advertisement on how apple computers and software were used to put the whole thing together.

aside from that, it's sparked my interest in the DVD. where can i find one?

The next time I'm scheduled to play is 9/11 at Twist from 7-11 or something like that. If I get booked sooner somewhere I'll let you know.

New mix up! More vocal than SFTG Vol. 1

Sounds from the Grotto Vol. 2 Playlist

1. Yukihiro Fukutomi feat Lady Alma - "Hooked"
2. Urban Jazz Naturals - "Take Me Away"
3. Marko Militano feat Darren Barrett - "Good People"
4. Joeski - "EL Soye"
5. Delano Smith feat Diamondancer - "A Message for the DJ"
6. Nikos feat Nita - "Let's Stay Together" (dub)
7. Andy Lee - "You Want My Love"
8. Herbie Hancock - "Stars" (Mod club mix)
9. Kings of Tomorrow - "Another Day"
10. Graceland feat Billie - "Just a Little Bit"
11. Liquid People pres Danism feat Heidi Levo - "Inside My Soul"
12. Lefunken feat. Mina - "Stand Up"

There will obviously be no more SFTG mixes as the Grotto has been desecrated! (verb. To violate the sacred character of a place or language)

Hope to work on some new mixes this week.
