I remember when the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame first opened. It was years ago. I went, and I was completely underwhelmed. Who paid to build that shit?
Whenever I talk to someone from out of town who has gone there, they were disappointed as well. In fact, I don't ever think I've heard any positive reviews of it from any out of towners I've talked to or come in contact with.
If anyone asks about things to do and see in Cleveland, I'll list a few things, and not even mention it. If they ask I'll honestly tell them its a waste of time and money. I mean, the place is so worthless, they don't even have induction ceremonies at it.. they have it in friggin NYC.
What's wrong with it? Well, its BLAND. I've had more fun in the line of Cedar Point's Disaster Transport than I have in the museum. It isn't what you'd expect a hall of fame to be, let alone a ROCK hall of fame. To sum up the Hall of Fame, it's pretty much a Hard Rock Cafe, but with less food. So what makes it worth having?
I'm convinced Cleveland shit themselves when they finally 'won' the ability to get the HoF here, but damn, we don't deserve it... not the way they pulled it off.
However, I can't think of anyway to really fix it. I mean, how do we make it interesting? I mean, the more interesting parts have been some of the exhibits, but if you're not a Beatles Fan or a Hendrix fan you're pretty much in for nothing.
I'm curious who agrees with me, and, if you disagree- can you tell me what about it inspires you, or that you like about it?
