CLEVELAND -- What you once called "The Gund," may now be known as "The Q."

One of Cleveland's premiere sports and entertainment arenas is changing hands.

Quicken Loans, the online mortgage lender, bought the naming rights to Gund Arena, NewsChannel5 reported.

Dan Gilbert, the owner of the Cavaliers, also owns Quicken. He wants to rename it Quicken Loans Arena and call it The Q for short.

Cavs officials will present the proposed name to Cleveland's Planning Commission later this week.

If it goes through, Gund will become "The Q" when the NBA season starts this fall.

better then us cellular field in chicago, which is known as the "cell" for short.

btw...jacob's field will be known as something different in the near future, possibly next season, as the naming rights dick jacobs bought, expire in 06...the dolans said they would sell the name of the field to the highest bidder...which will help the team a little in terms of payroll.

The "Q" sounds like the name for a spot were you should bring your own ribs and beer....or that cheap furniture store The Big "Q"

Shit currently Cleveland might be the only city with three non-commercial named venued..Gund, Cleveland Browns Stadium, and Jacobs Field...

Soon looks to be changing though
