Couldnt you just take a copy protected cd and import the audio into your DAW sequencer then just do a mixdown from there to .mp3 format?

Theres workarounds for everything.

easier than that - use an audio hijacker. however, most people are not smart with technology and thinking outside the box with tools they're unfamiliar with is security enough for most.
