I remember a thread on this subject but can't seem to find it.

Looking for a set of DJ headphones and a suggested vendor to purchase from. Thanks,

F

i've been pretty happy with the sennheiser hd-25 sp1's. the cord is kind of annoying, but manageable. sound reproduction is excellent. these also have amazing sound isolation. i don't have to jack up the headphone volume when i want to mix in the headphones. the hd-25's are also amazingly light. 2/3rds the weight of your average headphones.

$115 at turntable lab.

I think it's MAINLY personal preference.

I've used the Technics RPDJ-1200 pretty much since I've been seriously DJing. I'm on my second pair and loathe the day when I need to switch to a different model.

The NEW Technics SUUUUCK. (RP-DH1200)

When I took a recording class at Tri-C, they made us but these Audio-Tech ATH-M30 which I find great for studio use.

Yeah, it's a matter of personal preference. I have the RP-DH and don't mind them at all, although the treble response on them isn't as good as the RP DJ or the Sony 700's...but I don't use them for studio work either, just DJ'ing. I bought them because the joints are hoss and don't look like they'll break in a year or two like the sony 700's.

It's actually the way I wear mine on my head...puts stresses on the joints that the sony's don't deal all that well with.

I only used them when Reese bought a new pair when they first came out and I used them a few times at o2. I just thought they sounded terrible.

I think I'd like to try out these sennheiser hd-25....

I ended up getting the HD 25 SP1. The sound is excellent but, as noted by others, the cord can be a bit of a hassle but nothing that can't be taken care of. Thanks for the input from everyone.

you probably have already figured this out, but the chord is easy to bundled up to a length that is comfortable. then just zip tie it, or twist the slack around the bundle to keep everything in place.
