CLEVELAND -- An investigation of an alleged rape at a popular downtown bar is under way, NewsChannel5 reported.

Cleveland police said a rape was reported at the Spy Bar, which is located on West 6th in the Warehouse District. The exact date of the crime is unknown.

Investigators said a 19-year-old Cleveland State student, who lives at Viking Hall, said she was forced into a back room in the basement of the bar and raped by an employee as a bouncer guarded the door.

The owner, Chris Praizner, who talked exclusively with NewsChannel5, said he is cooperating with police and has found no evidence the incident happened.

According to the police report, investigators said the victim claims the Spy employee closed the door and said, "I can't wait to touch you and you ain't leaving until I get what I want."

The Spy Bar employee was not charged and the case was turned over to a Cuyahoga County grand jury. It will determine if kidnapping and rape charges will be filed.

...one of the 101 reasons I have NEVER to go to Spybar Cleveland. Have you see the type of people that are in the long line for that place on Saturday? No comment. It's strange, b/c Spybar Chicago plays only House music. Go figure.

They used to play House....I really miss those days! I met a lot of great people that I still keep in touch with to this day!

Yeah...I believe that kid named Doug used to play variations of the stuff...are you familiar with him? :wink:

Too bad they wont change the format back to what it was.. Man that place used to be ' The Spot' between there and Groovee West 6th had some options back in the day. I miss those days when there were lines of people trying to get into the clubs...

that's where we met! i used to always drag your ass out on the dancefloor (if it wasn't out there already)!

:::sigh::: i miss the old spy days when doug used to spin there. that used to be my favorite spot to go to on saturdays...it felt like home to me.
